I hope many of you will be attending the TMEA All-State Conference next week in Nashville.
The first performance of the conference will be the TBA Honors Recital. Six outstanding soloists and three exceptional ensembles are slated to perform. The recital will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 in Tennessee Ballroom C.
Please plan to attend and bring your students. These students are really “putting it all out there” to perform as a soloist or member of a trio or quartet at the state music conference and deserve our attendance and support.
We have several TBA members’ ensembles performing at the conference :
The Concerts will presented by:
Bellevue Middle School Symphonic Band, Paul Waters, conductor
Thursday 1:00 PM Tennessee Ballroom AB
Vanderbilt University Wind Symphony, Thomas Verrier, conductor
Thursday, 9:00 PM Tennessee Ballroom AB

I have attached an agenda for our TBA meeting. I look forward to seeing you all there.
My agenda includes topics I know we need to discuss, but through the course of the first couple of days of the conference I will be talking to many of you and those discussions may lead to adding items to the agenda. I asked that our meeting block be lengthened from the standard 50 minutes to 90 so we will not have to be quite so hurried to conclude our business, but inevitably some of the topics will require revisiting more in-depth during the Summer Symposium in June.
If you have something you would like to discuss, please email me at [email protected] or see me prior to the meeting.
Thank you for the wonderful things you do for the students in Tennessee’s bands every day!
Travel safely; I look forward to seeing you at the conference next week.
